Like fire, LIGHT has a special meaning in many cultures. It is the opposite of darkness. LIGHT and darkness offer
knowledge and clarity in a dialectic field of tension and reveal the gray areas or color gradations in between. Just as fire offers people warmth and brightness, LIGHT is
associated with pleasantness and well-being, and in almost all religions LIGHT symbolizes salvation and enlightenment. Photography captures this tension between LIGHT and darkness for a
fraction of a second. That is the fascinating thing - every photo is unique, as it captures something that has subsequently passed.
Photography is “painting with light” as the unique image of this special moment.
